2013 Chardonnay, Baker Ridge Vineyard,
Russian River Valley

  The 2013 Baker Ridge Chardonnay is from our Estate Vineyard contiguous with our winery site. This wine comes from three acres on the northeast facing coolest section of the vineyard. This Chardonnay features Old Wente and Dijon 809 clones. The clusters were hand harvested, sorted, and pressed whole cluster for 3 hours. The juice was left to settle cold and anaerobically for 2 days before racking to barrels and concete. Fermentation lasted from 18 to 48 days depending on the vessel. Following fermentation all vessels were racked to separate the heavy from light lees. The wines were aged on their light lees for 10 months.
2012 Chardonnay, Starr Ridge Vineyard,

  This 2012 Chardonnay features Dijon clones 95 and 96 from our Starr Ridge Vineyard located on Starr Road in the Russian River Valley. The clusters were harvested on September 17–21. The fruit was whole cluster pressed to tank, settled, and racked to 79% French oak barrels (27% new) and 21% concrete egg. This Chardonnay was fermented for just over three weeks at temperatures between 59º–63º F. The lees in each barrel were stirred every two weeks for four months, then allowed to settle. Malolactic conversion was inhibited at 15%.
2012 Chardonnay, Estate Wine, Russian River Valley

  This 2012 Russian River Valley Chardonnay is a blend from our Starr Ridge (38%), Cresta Ridge (57%), and Baker Ridge (5%) Estate Vineyards in the Russian River Valley. The fruit was hand harvested and whole cluster pressed to tank, settled, and racked to 71% French oak barrels (22% new) and concrete egg (19%), where it was fermented for just under three weeks at temperatures between 60º – 64º F. The lees in each barrel were stirred twice a month for the first four months, then allowed to settle. This Chardonnay was aged sur lie with 20% malolactic conversion.

  Our 2012 Concrete Chardonnay is a blend of clones 76, 95, 96, Wente and 809 from our Cresta Ridge (25%), Baker Ridge (38%), and Starr Ridge (37%) Estate Vineyards in the Russian River Valley. This wine saw no malolactic fermentation and was aged sur lie in a 500 gallon stone concrete eggs for nine months.

  This 2013 Chardonnay features Dijon clones 95 and 76 from our Cresta Ridge Vineyard in the Green Valley sub-appellation of Russian River Valley. The clusters were harvested. The fruit was whole cluster pressed to tank, settled, and racked to 77% French oak barrels (28% new) and 23% concrete egg. This Chardonnay was fermented for three weeks at temperatures between 59º–64º F. The lees in each barrel was stirred twice a month for the first four months, then allowed to settle. Malolactic conversion was inhibited at 20%.
2014 Chardonnay, Sons & Daughters Ranch,

  This 2014 Chardonnay is sourced entirely from our Sons & Daughters Ranch located at the border of the Russian River Valley and Chalk Hill AVA’s. This north-south oriented vineyard is home to 17 acres of old vine clone 4 Chardonnay planted on St. George rootstock. The clusters were harvested September 3. The fruit was whole cluster pressed to tank, settled, and racked to 59% stainless steel tank and 41% concrete egg. It was aged unoaked, sur lie with no malolactic conversion.
