Our Winery Story
Thomas George Estates was established in 2008 when Tom Baker acquired the Winery and vineyard of Russian River Valley wine pioneer Davis Bynum who produced the first RRV Pinot Noir at the Winery. We are a family owned and operated Winery that produces small lot, limited production Russian river Valley Estate Single Vineyard and Single Block wines that naturally express the unique characteristics of their varietal, terroir and vintage.
We have produced our wine from four Russian River Valley Vineyards, Baker Ridge Vineyard, Cresta Ridge Vineyard, Starr Ridge Vineyard and Sons and Daughters Ranch Vineyard.
After the 2016 vintage we stopped producing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines that blended grapes from our different Estate Vineyards and starting with the 2017 vintage we produce only Single Vineyard and Single Block Wines.
Our goal is to identify terroir in each of our Vineyards that is sufficiently distinctive from other parts of the Vineyard and the Vineyard generally that it can produce Single Block Wines.
We are committed to the release of our wines when we believe that they are approaching the point where they are a valid expression of where they will be at their apex, which means later release dates than are typical.
At the Winery we strive to provide unique and memorable Wine Tasting Experiences focused on food and wine pairings and have rejuvenated century old houses to provide luxury accomodations and the opportunity for our guests to fully immerse themselves in the Thomas George Estates Russian River Valley Wine Experience.
